An imprint with a full-time home.
Strathdon Press is the publishing house of the Strathdon Group — commissioning, producing, and distributing books for authors inside the Group and beyond it, under one editorial standard.
What we do
We handle every stage of publishing a book: commissioning, editing, design, production, rights, and distribution. That’s true whether the manuscript arrived unsolicited from a first-time author or was commissioned as one of the Strathdon Group’s own titles — there’s no separate process and no lower bar for either.
Strathdon Manor Media was founded in 2016 and has published multiple titles to date, across history, memoir, literary fiction, and regional reference.
What we look for
We read everything we ask for — every unsolicited submission that follows our guidelines gets a full read and a real reply, not a form rejection. We’re looking for a clear, specific voice over a clever pitch, and we’d rather a manuscript name the actual place, the actual guideline, the actual detail, than gesture at something vague.
See our submission guidelines for exactly what to send and how we respond.
Edited properly
Every title gets a full editorial pass — developmental and copy edit — before it goes to design.
Regionally rooted
A meaningful share of our list is tied to Aberdeenshire, the North East, and South Africa without being limited to it.
One standard
Group titles and outside authors go through the same editorial bar — nothing is waved through.
Editorial focus, operational support.
Strathdon Press is a standalone editorial identity — its own mark, its own list, its own submissions process. Day-to-day operations, including contracts, production scheduling, rights administration, and distribution, are run by Strathdon Manor Media ↗, the Group’s media and marketing company, so that Press can stay focused on the books themselves.
If your enquiry is about rights, bulk orders, or distribution rather than a manuscript, the contact page will route you to the right place.
The mark
Our monogram interlocks the Press’s initials — S in Green, P in Indigo — inside a plain circle, the same way a printer’s colophon has marked a book as its publisher’s for centuries. Green leads here; Indigo supports. It’s a small detail, but it’s ours.
