Most people who leave a high-control spiritual system don’t leave because they lost a theological argument. They leave because, somewhere along the way, a word they trusted stopped meaning what they thought it meant. The Inverted Gospel Matrix is Grant D Muhl’s attempt to name that shift clearly — not as an attack on the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements as a whole, and not as a verdict on the sincere faith of the millions of believers within them, but as a careful, chapter-by-chapter examination of a specific theological current that has grown up alongside, and in places overtaken, the historic Gospel inside those movements.
The book traces this current to three distinct historical roots — identity, method, and structure — that converged over roughly a century and a half to produce the system examined across twenty doctrine chapters. Each chapter takes a single Christian teaching — faith, sovereignty, the nature of man, the presence of God, the mediation of Christ, sanctification, suffering, the mission of the Church, and more — and holds its historic meaning up against the meaning it has quietly come to carry.

The book unfolds in five movements. Chapter 1 names the Inverted Gospel and traces its three historical roots. Chapters 2 through 21 form the heart of the book — twenty chapters moving through four parts. Chapter 22 closes with a direct, practical call to action, including ten concrete commitments for a church seeking to recover a gospel of grace.
